The Invidia.
The Invidia Hive really is exactly like the hives used by UGC-Allied Invid as manufactured; However, whereas loyal Invid then land their hive and optimize it to habitation and manufacturing
A Space Hive, Space Exterior and Cutaway Views. Note the presence
of multiple smaller spheres around the hull and lack of tentacles.
A Landed Hive. Note that the hull is now relatively smooth, with the
tentacles extending out from the perimeter and several stalk-like devices
(sensors, shield emitters, and weapons mounts) growing out of these.
(Protoculture), an Invidia Hive is not. It remains rigged for space travel even if it"s been landed long enough to become permantly rooted to the planet (requiring months to undue).
Like their loyal counterparts, the Invidia Hive is made of an organic-composition cermet designed to allow the hive to grow over time. The material can be made translucent so the Flower of Life may be grown inside if necessary- a common fate for Invidia hives, as they must position themselves somewhere they can hide, thus often hostile planets or, in some cases, even asteroids.
Invidia Hives are typically found in pairs (the two founder rebel Stage 5 Invids), though often if one is damaged it will be stripped of all valuable materials and abandoned (usually pushed into a planet without atmosphere, to hide the damage to the planet). The two hives are typically found as anti-podal (as close to the exact opposite side of the planet, asteroid, etc) as possible. This is to protect the opposite sphere. The Stage 5 Invidias switch between the two Hives at roughly regular intervals (using a shuttle usually bought on some off-market location).
Some sections are be manned by Invidista Collabs, though these are generally the outside sections of the hull and near the engineering plants (so the collabs are the more likely to be killed in the opening phase of an attack) or in isolated areas (where the risk to Invidia lives is too great, and the rewards too few, to be worth the risk in Invidia lives).

Official Name: Space Hive.
Nicknames:
Dome Hive
Sives
Radio Identification Designator: Sierra Mike Mike.
Model Type: Hive; Habitation and Transportation Unit.
Class: Invid/Invidia Ship.
Crew: 3,000 average.
Passengers: As many as 250,000 is common.
MDC By Location:
* Main Hull-
Hull Per 10² ft area-
Exterior Opening Energy Barriers (60)-
20,000
400
300 each

** Thrusters (3, 6, or 9)-
*** Power Core-

500 each
2,000

Note:
* Depleting the MDC of the main hive will effectively destroy the station. 100% of all Invid left on the station are killed. The burning hulk of the space hive will fall out of orbit and burn up in the atmosphere within 1D6 days.
*** Depleting the MDC of a thruster will reduce speed and maneuverability proportionally; Destroying them all will leave the ship adrift in space, risking the capture of the hive by a gravity well (such as a planet), and even probably being sucked in and destroyed. Additionally, there is a proportional risk that damage to the thrusters will spread to the power core up to 80% (i.e., with three thrusters there is 27% chance of a fire in the thrusters spreading to the power core, with 9 thrusters it is 9%, and in between).
**Depleting the MDC of the central power core will cause an explosion that effectively destroy the station. The Invid Brain will automatically be killed, in addition to (1D10 times 10)% of all Invidia still remaining on the station. The burning hulk of the space hive risking the capture of the hive by a gravity well (such as a planet), and probably being sucked in and destroyed by the planet.

Speed and Statistical Data:
Space Fold: Equipped.
In System: Factor 20 one main drives, Mach 20 on secondary drives maximum.
In Atmosphere: Mach 2 safely. SAFELY means safe for the ship, not necessarily what"s safe for the planet (and its inhabitants).
Diameter: 2 miles.
Length: 5,600 feet; About 500 feet are the quad drives of the Hive.
Weight: 200,000 tons.
Cargo: Around 1,000 and 1,500 Invidia and Inividista, plus about twice that many Inorganics.
Power System: Invid Protoculture technology.
Cost and Availability: Not applicable; Available ONLY to the Invid, and NOBODY else.
Black Market Cost and Availability: Not available.

Weapons Systems:
1. Heavy Lasers: A battery of heavy lasers arranged around the hull, is used to defend the ship against enemy ships. The exact number varies, but the most ever seen was 20.
Purpose: Attack
MD: 6D6 times 10 per blast
Rate of Fire: Up to twice per melee.
Range: 100,000 feet.
Payload: Unlimited

2. Full-Force Barrier Field: This shield completely envelops the ships providing protection from attack from any angle.
Purpose: Defense
MDC: 200
Range: 20 feet.
Payload: Effectively unlimited until destroyed.
3. Missile Launchers: Each Space Hive is equipped with SOME Missile launchers, though the numbers and types vary. The most seen on a single Space hive is ten, therefore this number is used.
Purpose: Offense.
MD and Range: Varies by type used.
Missile Type: Any of the four major types or warheads.
Rate of Fire: Up to ten missiles per melee.
Payload: As many as 100,000 missiles.

Features:
  • Radar: A general scan radar around the equator of the hull provides a 200,0003mile area veiw, but with only a 20% of detecting Stealth craft.
  • Targeting Radar: A pair of targeting radars toggled to the defense lasers only reaches 20 miles and coverage of a 100² foot area.
  • Protoculture Sensor: 98% chance of detecting general Protoculture sources, but can not detect Shadow Drives.
  • ESM: Radar Detector. Passively detects other radars being operated.
  • Full Range Sensory Suite: Infrared, ultra violet, Magnification, night sight, color filters, thermal imager. Range is about 2,000 miles for MOST sensors. Infrared: 20 miles, Magnification: 15 times; Ultra Violet: 22 miles, Magnification: 25 times; Night Vision: 24 miles, Magnification: 8 times; Color Filters: 19 miles, Magnification: 200 times; Thermal Imager: 10 miles; Magnification: 40 times
  • Motion Detector: Activates a loud wailing when an object is coming at the user fast, and a soft ringing if it"s coming slowly. Activation ranges must be specified by the pilot.
  • FLIR/SLIR: Forward and Side Looking Infrared. Allows pilot and weapons officer to get visuals on targets at night.
  • HUD: Displays maps, radar, targeting information, and any OTHER information the pilot wants directly in front of him/her.
  • ICS Radios: Invid Communications Systems Radio; Allows real time, continuous radio link up with friendly forces in the area, prevents jamming, and doesn"t allow eavesdropping. Effective Range: 10 mile. Works on special energy bands that only be tapped by the Invid (this prevents eavesdropping).
  • Blue Force Tracker: Identifies Friend from Foe. Overlays the information on both the radar and HUD, ensuring that friendly forces are not accidentally targeted.
  • CBR Protection: Complete chemical, biohazard, and radiological protection.
  • Vacuum Seal: Permits the ship to be used in hard vacuum (such as outer space), and other hostile environments.
  • Internal temperature and humidity control: Automatically maintains occupants desired heat, humidity, and other personal comfort settings.
  • Heat And Radiation Shielding: Special shielding prevents the penetration of life threatening heat and radiation.
  • Oxygen Rebreather System: Extends crews air supply to 100 times; Cartridge MUST be replaced after that period of time.
Combat Profile for Invidia Space Hives:
  • 6 strikes per melee.
  • 8 defensive actions per melee (dodge and roll).
  • +5 strike.
  • +3 dodge.
  • +2 roll.
  • +5 imitative.
