The Jollem are perhaps the greatest enigma compared to the threat they present in the known universe; While the Chiggs are far more mysterious, they've never once threatened the UGC without provocation and contained
Slaves: The Jollem are very much a slaver society. Any members of a planet that survive (or is allowed to survive) the invasion are immediately enslaved using a technology the seems to wipe the target's mind of independence and makes them completely subservient to their masters. Only those fit to works are spared the massacre that follows successful invasion. Jollem Culture Effectively nothing is known about their culture. The UGC long ago learned the language, it's not unknown by any stretch, but the Jollen refuse to talk to anyone except each other and as a result nobody really knows how their society works. "Governance" It is thought each city ship has a central authority, a simgle member under whom all else is subservient. Assasintion is a known way to advance in the Jollem culture, and that's as far as the UGC has gotten. Relations To Other Factions "Openly hostile" is putting it mildly. They hate everyone, including each other. No UGC aligned faction will have anything to do with them, and most will actively look for any signs of Jollem in any territories, including their neighbors. The Jollem are one of the most universally dispraised species in the UGC. The Jollem are not currently considered a varmint but that could change in time. The Atorians: Useful idiots, the Jollem have occasionally hired various Atorian crews for specific missions in support of their own missions. If the opportunity presents to betray their allies, the Jollem won't hesitate to take it. The Invidia and T'sentraedi Malcontents: One of the few groups the Jollem are truly terrified of as a species, the mere hint that a system may have been occupied at one time by either the Invidia or T'sentraedi malcontents appears to raise their guard; The active presence of these groups has caused them to flee, even on worlds they had already conquered. So profound is their apparent fear that any Jollem that is not aboard an evacuation ship within as little as 12 hours could be in danger of being left behind. The Tiresian: Utter contempt, but the Jollem don't particularly seek out the Tiresians as potential prey either. The Goa'uld: comtemptuous. The Jollem believe they are better warriors than the Goe'uld, and typically prove it out. The Gou'uld try to avoid Jollem whenever possible beyond their own territories. The Wraith: Unmitigated loathing; The Jolllem will destroy a Wraith hive whenever the chance presents, but will not enter the hive. The Beorge: The Beorge scare the Jollem, but they are safe enough from them for the moment because their bodies are useless as drones. The Syhith: A tacit agreement between the two groups exists; they trade a little, but they don't like each other and don't pretend to. The Cybermen and Daleks: Mutually contemptuous, but all three realize a war between them would only prove advantageous for their collective enemies. The Founders/Dominion: The Jollem don't appear to be aware of the Dominion. Ascension Supremacy and The Drug Lords Of FBX 21555320: The Jollem avoid FBX 21555320; They believe they could easily defeat the rival factions, but the UGC would be right there to fight them next, or worse still trap them on world. The Lucian Alliance: A tacit agreement between the two groups exists; they trade a little, but they don't like each other and don't pretend to. COBRA COMMAND: If the Jollem could be said to have an ally, it could arguably be called Cobra. The two groups have been observed operating together on multiple occasions with some degree of compatibility. Thehy don't like each other but then again neither of these groups like anyone, and at least they don't make betraying their allies a priority. Manpower And Equipment The Jollem's equipment and manpower is not clearly known but observations on them suggests there are a few billion Jollem alive with several hundred city-ships each holding dozens of corvettes and frigates, and probably thousands of drop ships. Post war analysis suggests each ship has several million Jollem on board. All Jollem equipment observed appears to be deteriorated, though to significantly varying degrees even within a fleet.
City Ships: The Jollem use massive 30-mile across city ships. They are so huge that upon entering an atmosphere they create their own weather patterns. The insides of a Jollem city ship have been penetrated, but not much is known. There is a cavernous bay for fighters and other smaller ships, at the head of which there's an apparent station for some kind of controller. The ships have about 100 decks with passageways about 20 feet high and wide that run in relatively straight lines around any given deck and an additional passageway running just inside of the hull. The ships have a single fighter bay about the size of an SDF's main bay where the fighters will land in latching mechanisms. The crews then transfer off. There are what appear to be sickbays, messdeck, and berthing areas towards the core of the ship. The engineering areas are forward at roughly the middle deck, the bridge on the ventral most deck. The captains cabin is at the dorsal most deck. Jollem city ships are uniformly deteriorated to significant degrees, though said degrees vary. Almost all show signs of having hull repairs (different colored and mishappen hull plates). Other Ships: The Jollem have a few other ships, of which basically nothing is known. Dropships: Around 100,000; The Jollem use a drop ship that can take around 1,000 fighters to the palnet at a time. Corvettes: Around 10,000; These ships appear to be faster screening ships for anti-fighter defense. They are small enough to fit into the capitals ships, but are significantly bigger than the fighters. Frigates: Around 10,000; Heavier than the corvettes, the frigates appear to be the main battle wagons of the Jollem fleet. UGC intelligence has determined that they have a crew of around 1,000. Destroyers: Several thousand; The ones that have been observed have all suffered significat damage, and their numbers are provably dwindling. Power Armor: A few million; Many have been observed wearing something like a power armor, but they seem to be relatively rare. Robots: Several million; The robots appear to be automated power armors. They are significantly inferior quality. Ground Vehicles: A few hundred million of various types. Fighter: The Jollem clearly have had two types of fighters over their history. The 'old' style had a triple heat beam weapons similar to a plasma generator laser beam system. Exactly how it worked is unclear. Millions of these were destroyed at the Battle Of Shah'r (roughly 200-300 BC), and it's thought that this was when the design was abandoned. The various empires over history have acquired the old style fighters and rebuilt them to varying degrees; One is in service with the Sharie Defense Forces as a picket. Nothing from conquered empires of that era still exists, but third party observers claim the fighters would move slowly in groups of three through an atmosphere firing randomly. The 'new' style is very similar, but with better armor and improved systems in all aspects. The UGC and other empires have been able to acquire examples, often intact, as they are commonly used for scouting and reconnaissance missions and for basic charting missions, and sometimes are lost in the process. One such crashed on earth around 1490 and remained hidden until her discovery after the rain of death. The weapons system on the new style appears to be the same as the old style but more concentrated and focused. Again, nobody quite understands how it works. It is estimated they have several million of these craft. Technical And Industrial Capacity The Jollem have industial capabilities, but what they really are is unknown. Tactics The Jollem typically approach a target as one ship, then launch massed fighters to overwhelm defenses long enough for drop ships to land. In times past, fleets of Jollem ships would approach the target and interrupt communications networks. However this ended after the defeat at Ihdehfore where over 2,000 Jollem ships were destroyed in just a few hours when the defenders hacked into the Jollem fleet using the same network the Jollem had been using to jam their defenses. This was the single worst defeat since Shah'r (possibly 2 million ships destroyed) and the first since then and against the UGC. Until the rise of the UGC only the Shahians had truly stood up to them any ways other than overwhelming numbers. Resource Development Use Of Spies: The Jollem are known to use spies; Very often a ship in transit is hijacked and the passengers and crew are brainwashed to serve the Jollem. This process is imperfect however, as the victims still have some autonomy- They can, if they are determined, break the control. Perfect brainwashing is useless in a spy, since they must be able to problem solve to obtain the information needed. Many such spies simply turn themselves into the police, who typically deatin them until RDF or REF personnel can take them into custody. However this process ahs worked a few times, such as Vancoria (the Trent DAVIS case). Most of these spies were taken from ships boarded by the Jollem, brainwashed, and then inserted int a targeted system. Typically they perform a specific task such as collecting specific information or preparing landing sites. Current Decline The Jollem are in a current decline- In fact they're on the verge of extinction. When and how this began is anybody's guess. The number of ships the Jollem have had declined precipitously in recent years; In fact whole fleets of ships have been found gutted and destroyed by what appears to be scuttling fires, but many more appear to have been destroyed by other Jollem ships. Exactly what is going on is anybody's guess. Current Operations Against the Jollem: There are no current operations against the Jollem, but a proposal to capture one alive and present him to a Tiamist Magog on the theory that the Tiamist would carry over his predecessors' knowledge that the UGC wanted information on Jollem society and motivations and the Jollem would know this information. Interviews with both Tiamist and Wayist Magog revealed this plan would not work since the Tiamist would object to the use of force, and in any case the Jollem knowledge would not pass down in a useful manner. All active militry operations against the Jollem were suspended over 100 years ago, but incursions do occur and the both Halls of the Council made the unprecedented move to authorize the use of Reflex weaponry without further prior authorization at the ship's command or Battalion level against the Jollem. (Although this authorization was made against the Magog and Wraith before, it had never been given against an "intelligent" species until now.) Size and Orientation: Large Company (200); Each ship counts as a separate "corporation" under the Jollem system.
None. They sponosor themselves. | Utility Outfits (5); They are lucky they can even do that, and are often lesser quality. | Basic Transportation (3); Each ship is a city, and the entire city transports the entire society around. Once a planet is subjugated, surviving native vehicles are taken for Jollem use starting with senior leaders.
Basic Weaponry (5); Each Jollem uses an energy-based long and side arm and basic body armor. | Basic Service (2); Jollem ships can talk to each other and to their own forces on the ground, and those ground forces can talk to each other. Jollem ships usually only talk to each other to exchange insults or for a little trading. | Lax (2). It rarely matter how much the crews talk, since they're restricted to ship anyways. | None (0). The Jollem don't even have a homeworld anyone knows of. When they've conquered a world, they strip it of every resource possible and move on.
Scout Detachment (5) and Spies (). Though rare, Jollem have managed to acquire a few spies in their time. Everyone knows working for the Jollem means death, but a few have been turned. Scouts are routinely seen around the galaxies; Only when scout ships begin the hang around does the UGC bother with them, and then they simply destroy them- The Spacy doesn't bother with taking anyone alive, and the Patrol has rarely taken survivors. | Nickels and Dimes (5). The Jollem were never powerful, despite their opinion of themselves. | Miscreant and Diabolic (0). The Jollem species is fundamentally twisted by nature. They hate all life other than their own, and they hate each other just as much.
Hunted (0). In fact they're wanted throughout the UGC. Dead, alive, or otherwise. Bounties for information can run into the hundreds of thousands of credits. | Freelance (2). They're paid a percentage of the profits.

Truly unknown. The Jollem are so mysterious the UGC can't even understand their rank structure. It's believe there's a central leader to each ship, and it's known that assassination is a form of advancement in Jollem society, but that's about it.
The Jollem have a few weapons and vehicles worthy of note.
Perhaps ironically more is known about thee Jollem city ships than anything else; REF special forces have managed to penetrate the ships and get a reasonably good look inside. GM's; Use UDF stats for MDC, weapons, etc. without the Reflex weapons. The Jollem do posses nuclear weapons, and will use them if they think the benefits outweigh the risks (i.e. targeting command centers, high value defenses, etc.). | Very little is known about the Jollem fighter. Observationally it is known they use and energy weapon based on concentrated photons- Not lasers, but something much more powerful. They are protected by a force field and capable of Mach 12 flight and independent FTL. A standard crew appears to consist of two. GM's; Use the ASF-21 Sholagar Fighter, but with an FTL of Factor 8, a top speed of Mach 12, a 1,500 MDC barrier field, and unlimited ammo for the weapon (with the same stats as the Sholagar's rail launcher for range and damage).
GM's; Jollem tech is actually on par with the REF so use UGC ships of roughly the same type for stats with the exception that the Jollem only use their energy weapon (same range, damage, rate of fire, etc.). |
