The UGC has developed "rail launcher," an electro-magnetic rail-gun that launches missiles. Micro, Mini, short and medium range missiles can be used in their particular type of launcher. Only UGC-designed missiles can be used.

L-08 Rail Mini-Missile Launcher
L-15b Rail SRM Launcher
L-22 Rail MRM Launcher
L-35 Rail LRM Launcher

L-02 Rail Launcher.
L-08 Rail Launcher.
Typically mounted as a towed rail launcher system mounted on a 2- (L-02a) or 4-wheel (L-02b) carriage with four heavy rail gun barrels (L-02's). The LIMA-02 (said "LEE-MA zero too") is fed from 20-round drums on both sides of the system. This system is effective both in a low-altitude air defense role, and in a ground-role. The system is optically or radar controlled and can be installed on any vehicleas a inglular unit. Designed for Micro-Missiles.
The L-02 was based on the frame of the Russian-Empire ZU-23-4, but unlike it's progenitor the L-02 CAN be fired from the travel position; Also, the front axle can be removed, though this isn't recommended.
Purpose: Heavy Assault.
Weight: 1.2 tons
Damage and Range: Varies by type used.
Rate Of Fire: Per gunner's attacks per melee.
Payload: 20 per magazine (loads from the sides) per barrel (80 total).
Bonus: Either quadruples the normal range of the missile OR triples it and adds +3 to strike.
Cost and Availability: 10,000credit each; By Assignment
Black Market Cost: Not available.
This towed rail launcher system is a semi automatic weapon system. The LIMA-08 (said "LEE-MA zero

ate"
) is fed from 10-round detatchable on the right side of the gun. The system is radar controlled, but manually fired and designed for Mini-Missile's. Can be mounted on any larger land vehicle and many aircraft, though it's most commonly found on the TU-01 Basic Trailer Unit co-mounted with L-02a Rail Launchers for self-defense.
Purpose: Heavy Assault.
Weight: 2 tons
Damage and Range: Varies by type used.
Rate Of Fire: Per gunner's attacks per melee.
Payload: 10 per magazine (loads from the right side).
Bonus: Either quadruples the normal range of the missile OR triples it and adds +3 to strike.
Cost and Availability: 20,000credit each; By Assignment
Black Market Cost: Not available.
Nickname: "The Sniper." They got this nickname from their use to precisely take out aircraft and make pinpoint shots on Mecha, without destroying the whole machine (just the cockpit).
L-15b Rail Launcher.
L-22 Rail Launcher.
This self propelled rail launcher system consists of a semi automatic weapon system. The Type 15c system is fed from contiuoue linkless feed system (a series of gears that serves as the magazine inside the hull of the vehicle, and takes 15 minutes to reload. The system is radar controlled. Designed for SRM's.
Purpose: Heavy Assault.
Weight: 3.4 tons
Damage and Range: Varies by type used.
Rate Of Fire: Per gunner's attacks per melee.
Payload: 2,000 per magazine. Takes 20 minutes to reload.
Bonus: Either quadruples the normal range of the missile OR triples it and adds +3 to strike.
Cost and Availability: 75,000credit each; By Assignment
Black Market Cost and Availability: Not available.
Historic Information: The vehicles the L-15c is mounted on has varied from time to time; In addition all the L-15b in UGC inventory (which was fed by a detachable clip holding 20 SRM's) have all been upgraded to L-15c's, giving greater flexibility and ease of use, in addition to faster target aqusition and more on-target time.
This fixed position rail launcher is single shot, and intended for area defense. It is radar controlled, manually commanded, and supported by off-site radar designators (including F/A-18 Hornet Fighters). Designed for MRM's. Only found around major cities around a planet, usually 6 to 12 such sites more-or-less equally around the planet or on capital ships.
Purpose: Heavy Assault.
Weight: 5 tons
Damage and Range: Varies by type used.
Rate Of Fire: Once per melee.
Payload: Single shot.
Bonus: Either triples the normal range of the missile OR doubles it and adds +3 to strike.
Cost and Availability: 100,000credit each; By Assignment
Black Market Cost and Availability: Not available.
L-35 Rail Launcher.
L-35 IN ACTION.
A rare breed of mobile LRM launchers; The L-35 does not actually launch a full-size LRM, but rather the last stage and warhead section (of up to 08 independent re-entry vehicles). These are the intercontinental ballistic missile, and not mere "strategic theater" missiles (which, while devastating effective, are still much smaller).
Pictured here is a GCW-Era United Kingdoms M-200 Thunderclapp Artillery Rocker retrofitted with the L-35 during field testing.
The L-35 is becoming more common on UCG warships, though they will not be replacing the engery based weapons in significant numbers.
Purpose: Planterary Defence/Bombardment.
Weight: 25 tons
Damage and Range: Varies by type used; LRM.
Rate Of Fire: Twice per melee.
Payload: 50-100 Warheads.
Bonus: Triples the normal range of the missile and adds +3 to strike.
Cost and Availability: 10 million credit each; Takes 8 months to build one unit, but 12 units could be built at the same time.
Black Market Cost: Not available (no interest).
Note: The ancient M-200 Thunderclapp Artillery Rocker required 2 tractors to move and the pedestal had to be lifted to turn the carriage. The L-35 does not require either of these, though there's no prohibition on doing so.
