EARLY Robotech Factory SATELLITE.
Early Converted Asteroid-Style Robotech Factory.
LATER Factory SATELLITE.
Later Purpose-Built Robotech Factory.
The Robotech Factories were developed over the course of about a thousand years to build literally everything the Tiresian Empire needed to maintain control; Warships, weapons, T'sentraedi Warrior Clones, even Protoculture (if Flower of Life seeds were present).
The First 100 or so such factories were in fact asteroids that had been stripped of all useful minerals, and were converted to space factories; One such facility had actually been abandoned in the Valivarre's asteroid belt and ignored for several hundred years; In fact, it was several years after the Final Reconciliation with the Invid that the odd way 6 certain asteroids had continued to drift in the same fashion over extended period that it was suddenly realized that the 'asteroids' were in fact a factory satellite. Once boarded, but after the remaining defenses were dealt with, the satellite was rebuilt (a fairly expensive process) and turned into a working museum to study how proto- Robotech Factories actually worked and were developed. (This particular factory satellite had been upgraded to a full Robotech Factory; however, the records kept on-board and careful examination of the mechanical equipment showed what had been changed to accomplish this goal.)
Of even greater import was the Lost Fleet Anchorage, from which three full-fledge second generation Robotech Factories were recovered and rebuilt; The First task they were set to was rehabilitating about 200 of the T'sentraedi War matériél (Warships), the next to scrapping out the remainder (around 350,000 total, including over 200 FULBTZS BERRENTZS-Class Home Base, which had to be systemically demolished before they could even be scrapped out).
The ships were equipped with spacefold generators, and were set (at the time) on an automated 'circuit' of several thousand systems, where T'sentraedi and Tiresian ships could rendezvous with them for repairs and refitting.
The Factory Satellites consist of a main hull which housed the main factory areas, computer cores, Protoculture Reactor, and Fold Drive. Around this are four where Mecha were produced and spacecraft assembled (using parts manufactured in the main hull).
The station are essentially undefended because they couldn't be anyways; Whatever Tiresian allied-forces on board were expected to sacrifice themselves to protect the factory long enough for it to fold away, then make their own escape as best as they could. However, as the SDF-3 arrived over Fljyt the Invid were ripping apart a factory satellite (an unrecoverable mess) that was in the custody of the Atorians, but according to the records of both sides the Atorians stepped aside the instant the Invid appeared; It appears that at least 10 million T'sentraedi clones were aboard in various stages of preparation- All killed in their sleep.
They did, however, have some anti-Mecha/missile defense systems in case some enemy forces slipped past the fleet.
Technically Robotech Factories are restricted to space only; However, ONE factory was found on a planet, PBB-1214222, which according to the legends of the T'sentraedi who still stood guard had been deliberately landed after she was damaged beyond the ability to repair; Their ancestors desperate action was intended to save what they thought was the only surviving example of the factory satellites in the hopes their Tiresian overlords could salvage the facility later; The T'sentraedi then regressed, and even began breeding. Had the Tiresians found them before the UWA, they would have been wiped out. It should be noted, however, that this was very much a one-of-a-kind event, and that the four hull sections were actually landed separately, not together (one part of the reason anything survived), as well as horrifically scarring the planet and its environment.

Weapon Systems:
Normally Mecha is included under "Weapons Systems"; However, due to the extent of the Mecha complement (indeed, they have a complement of ships, rather than just Mecha) these sections have been separated.
1. Main Laser Cannons (10): These powerful cannons represent the most powerful portion of the station's limited defense systems. Strategically placed around the station, there is no arc that doesn't have at least one cannon, but the largest concentrations are around the entrance doors. Located near the Main Entrance Door are three cannons, another cannon is located near the Secondary Entrance Doors of each factory pod, and the remaining three cannons are spread over the main body of the station to cover the remaining arcs.
Range: 100 miles (160.9 km) underwater, 200 miles (321.9 km) through an atmosphere, and 200,000 miles (321,869 km) in space.
Damage: 1D4 times 1000 M.D. per single blast.
M.D.C. Weapon Rating: 23
Rate of Fire: Each cannon can fire once per melee.
Payload: Effectively unlimited

2. Retractable Particle Beam Cannons (40) Scattered across the hull of the ship are powerful anti-ship particle beam cannons, the cannons stand ready to pop out from under their sliding hatches to attack. Each turret is capable of 360 degrees of rotation with an arc of fire of 180 degrees. The cannons are strategically placed around the station so that no arc has less than five cannons facing it. Six cannons are located on each factory pod and the remaining sixteen cannons are spread over the main body of the station.
Range: 100 miles (160.9 km) underwater, 200 miles (321.9 km) through an atmosphere, and 200,000 miles (321,869 km) in space.
Damage: 2D4 times 100 M.D. per single blast.
M.D.C. Weapon Rating: 24
Rate of Fire: Each cannon can fire twice per melee.
Payload: Effectively unlimited

3. Retractable Laser Turrets (450) The Lasers Turrets are located in batteries along the all sides of ships and are used as anti-mecha and small anti-ship weapons. They are not very powerful, but if fired in large numbers they can be devastating. The turrets are strategically placed around the station so that no arc has less than sixty turrets facing it. Fifty turrets are located on each factory pod and the remaining 250 turrets are spread over the main body of the station.
Range: 1584' (956.6 m) underwater, 3168' (956.6 m) through an atmosphere, and 60 miles (96.6 km) in space.
Damage: 2D6 times 10 M.D. per single blast.
M.D.C. Weapon Rating: 23
Rate of Fire: Each cannon can fire four times per melee, but they must fire in a volley of at least three cannons.
Payload: Effectively unlimited

4. Retractable Long Range Missile Turrets (500) These are very similar to the Retractable Laser Turrets, except they fire missiles instead of laser beams. They can use several different types of Warheads according to the mission at hand, but they are usually configured to be anti-spaceship missiles with the heaviest Warheads available. The turrets are strategically placed around the station so that no arc has less than sixty turrets facing it. Sixty turrets are located on each factory pod and the remaining 260 turrets are spread over the main body of the station.

Features:
  • Long Range Radar: The forward radar array can track and identify up to 10,000 craft simultaneously and has a 5,000 mile range. The radar has a full 180 degrees times 180 degrees times 180 degrees sphere of coverage.
  • Scanning Search Radar: The ship has a second scanning radar, with a 90 degrees cone of coverage at 150,000 miles range. This is usually used to extensively scan a given point.
  • Data Recorder: Records from the HUD. 5,000 hours of recording available.
  • Full range optic sensory suite: Infrared, ultra violet, Magnification, night sight, color filters, thermal imager. Range is about 200 miles for MOST sensors.
  • Bridge Display: Displays maps, radar, targeting information, and any OTHER information the OOD/Captain wants directly in front of them.
  • Auto-Pilot: The ship is equipped with a computerized auto-pilot intended to reduce helmsman fatigue. The auto-pilot can be programmed with a single destination or a complex flight plan involving multiple speeds, directions, and destinations. The onboard computer will alert the helmsman and OOD when the ship is near a waypoint (turn), and can also be set to automatically signal when sensors detect objects near her as well as take corrective (or evasive) action up to 15 degrees of assigned course or 2% of assigned speed. The auto-pilot was designed with long intra-system space journeys in mind.
  • Space Fold System: For FTL propulsion, the ship is equipped with a Fold System Cluster, capable of propelling her through hyperspace independently of another vessel. The range of the fold drive is theoretically unlimited except by the life expectancy of the spacecraft.
Special Systems:
The Factories have a few systems strictly unique to them for centuries (until the advent of the Nᴇᴏᴛᴇᴄʜ Factories).
1. Medial and Bio-Scan Facilities: The station has a full-fledged hospital that can do anything from mend broken bones to extremely complicated surgery. The station also has a complete bio-scan chamber used to study and analyze alien life forms and to provide detailed information regarding the physiology, chemical structure, and genetic structure of that life form.
2. Missile Storage: The station has storage for a large number of missiles used by all T'sentraedi ships. Fully loaded, the station holds 20,000,000 SAA-1 Granite (Gliquoun Touwhaug) Long Range Missiles, 2,000,000 SSA-1 Sniper (Lojredbeth Deuawhaug) Cruise Missiles, and 2,000,000 SSA-2 Scrapper (Letkes Deuawhaug) Cruise Missiles. These can be transferred to other T'sentraedi ships to reload their missile supplies or they can be used to reload the station's own missile launchers. Transferring missiles to another ship takes about one minute for every 200 missiles transferred. Reloading the station's missile racks takes about 1 melee round to completely reload one missile launcher and up to 75 launchers can be reloaded simultaneously.
3. Protoculture Reactor Recharger: The station is able to recharge other ship's Protoculture Reactors by draining its own reactor of energy. For every ten years recharged by the station, the life span of the station's Protoculture Reactor is reduced by one year.
4. Spaceship Production Facilities: The station contains extensive spaceship construction facilities. There are eighty building docks measuring 8202' (2500 m) in length. In total, 80 ships could be under construction at the same time. The station is only designed to build Tiresian Border Fleet ships, not Tiresian or T'sentraedi ships. At normal production it takes two months to build a TOU SALAAM-Class Picket Cruiser or SERON THOUN-Class Battlecruiser and three months to build a SIAN DERETA-Class Battle Fortress or SIAN MACROSS-Class Battle Fortress. Reduce production times by half if a facility is at maximum production, but for every month the facility is at maximum production there is a cumulative 5% chance that the facility will fail and require 1D4 months of repair before restarting operations.
5. Spaceship Repair Facilities: Each spaceship construction dock can be used to repair or refit a T'sentraedi ship; the docks can also be used to repair or refit any Tiresian or Border Fleet ship. The length of time it takes to repair a ship depends on the extent of the damage or disrepair of the ship. The average length of time to repair a ship can last from a few days to a several weeks.

6. Mecha Production Facilities: The station contains extensive Mecha construction facilities. There are fourteen mecha factories, three in each factory pod and two in the main body, and each factory is designed to be generic and can construct any Border Leet mecha. At normal production, each factory can produce 400 Bioroids of any type, 1000 Regult Combat Pods, 300 Glaug Battle Pods, 750 Light Artillery Pods, 750 Heavy Artillery Pods, 500 Recon Scout Pods, 500 Raulonve Fighter Pods, 500 Nousjadeul-Ger Calvary Power Armor, 200 Queadlunn-Rau Tactical Power Armor, 2000 Hover Platforms, 500 Glaug Booster Units, 800 Light Defense Drones, or 600 Heavy Defense Drones per week. It takes one week to retool a factory from producing one mecha type to a different mecha type. Double rate of production if a factory is at maximum production, but for every month the factory is at maximum production there is a cumulative 5% chance that the factory will fail and require 1D4 weeks of repair before restarting operations.
7. Auxiliary Production Facilities: The station contains extensive auxiliary construction facilities. There are six auxiliary factories, one in each factory pod and two in the main body, and each factory is designed to be generic and can construct any auxiliary Border Fleet unit. At normal production, each factory can produce 5 Roil Tiluvo Class Assault Corvettes, 25 QUEL QUALLIE-Class (Cyclops) Reconnaissance Scouts, 75 Liewneuatzs-Class Personnel Shuttles, or 150 Frandlar Tiluvo Transport Pods per week. It takes one week to retool a factory from producing one unit type to a different unit type. Double rate of production if a factory is at maximum production, but for every month the factory is at maximum production there is a cumulative 5% chance that the factory will fail and require 1D4 weeks of repair before restarting operations.
8 Weapon Production Facilities: The station contains extensive weapon construction facilities. There is one factory dedicated to producing armor and another dedicated to producing infantry weapons. At normal production, the factories can produce 5000 suits of armor of any type and 5000 infantry weapons of any type per week. Double rate of production if a factory is at maximum production, but for every month the factory is at maximum production there is a cumulative 5% chance that the factory will fail and require 1D4 weeks of repair before restarting operations.
9. Missile Production Facilities: The station contains extensive missile construction facilities. There are four missile factories, all in the main body, and each factory is designed to be generic and can construct any Tiresian missile. At normal production, each factory can produce 30,000 short range missiles, 20,000 medium range missiles, 5000 long range missiles, or 1000 cruise missiles per week. It takes one week to retool a factory from producing one missile type to a different missile type. Double rate of production if a factory is at maximum production, but for every month the factory is at maximum production there is a cumulative 5% chance that the factory will fail and require 1D4 weeks of repair before restarting operations. The construction of a missile includes all guidance systems and Warheads, although no more than 25 reflex Warheads of any type can be built per week.
    Robotech Factory Combat Profile:
  • 1,800 attacks per melee; However, all of them are restricted to stikes against targets within range of laser and missile batteries, and are usually against fighters.
  • +8 Strike.
  • -10 to dodge
Lost Fleet Anchorage.
Comming Soon.
