Intended for 1 man, the Type 3a can cruise along at about Mach 12 in space, and up to about 100 mph in an atmosphere. They are not armed. Other users include Special Battalions; They're used to insert Serra Bravos into combat, then afterwards often converted to one-man vehicles.

The Type 22b is a large-scale escape pod commonly used on passenger ships. Though an older design, the Type 22b has proven a stalwart in the narrow field of survival pods, mainly because not too much is really expected of them other than to hold up to 2 dozen passengers for about a month onboard (they can provide up to 3 months survival). After touching down, the pods can serve as temporary housing (in addition to the tents held onboard).

The Type 31 is a large-scale pod commonly used on cargo ships. One of the oldest designs, the Type 31 has proven extremely reliable, partially because they aren't "just" a survival pod but also a rescue pod; They are equipped with a light FTL drive, allowing the crew to attempt to reach safety on their own. This design technically pre-dates the Robotech Empire, having been developed around the time Zor began his research.
After touching down, the pods can serve as temporary housing (in addition to the tents held onboard).
The Type 31 has also been used by Special Battalions on occasion for follow-on forces.

The S-7A technically isn't a survival pod at all, but rather a little space shuttle. However, they are often used as survival pods on private and luxury space yachts. However, their common name is "S-7a Buss" because they are much more commonly used as a kind of "space bus," shuttling worker, etc., between berthing stations and working stations.
After touching down, the pods can serve as temporary housing (in addition to the tents held onboard.
