Based on the Carbonarran designed VEROCHA-Class Attack/Picket Vessel, for over two centuries these MASSIVE cargo ship were the largest starships ever built; They're nearly as big as Space Stations in their own right, and actually ARE a big as some. In fact, they're too big for any current spacestation to build; They're built in
A Fairly Average Sojourner-Class Cargo Vessel.
sections, then slowly pushed out like a sausage. They carry anything imaginable; Bulk grain, fuels, containers of trade goods, even a few converted to passenger ships (mostly for use by refugees). A few have been converted to private homes, and in this configuration are the LARGEST homes ever built; More have been converted to space stations in their own right, and are used as factories for every imaginable goods, with factory personnel living on board. Whole generations have been born, lived, and died, never having left one of these vessels.
To give an idea of the scale of these vessels, 100 Macross Cities can be housed in one of these monstrosities while still allowing enough room that a car would be needed to visit the next city. Because of this, the loss of ONE such vsl is considered a minor catastrophe for the home system, and even neighboring systems will hear about it. Also because of their sheer size, the Sojourner-Class can NOT dock with a space station, and therefore must use shuttles to ferry materials back and forth.
Name: Sojourner-Class
Model Type: Cargo vsls.
Crew: These vsls are 'rated' to a crew of 1,000. They sometimes actually have 100 crewmen. Occasionally. Not regularly, though.
Passengers: Are you kidding? There's no way to know- There might not even be enough living people in an entire star system to fully fill one of these vsls.
MDC By Location:
Main Hull-

External Hatches (about 150)-

Internal Hatches (up to 10,000)-
Hanger Doors (5)-
Thrusters (500)-

10,000 each

Note: The HUGE amounts of MDC these vessels have don't really mean all that much, in reality; They're still easily enough fractured to allow pirates and other raider to get what they want.
Speed and Statistical Data:
Spacefold: Equipped.
FTL: Factor 10.
Cruising Speed: 0.5 Mach.
In Atmosphere: Will crash, destroying a whole continent.
Clearance: 2,000 feet.
Beam: 1,500 feet.
Length: 200,000 feet.
Weight: 20 million tons.
Cargo: 500 billion tons.
Power Systems:
Primary: CSX-261 Lifespan: 200 years.
Secondary: Solar Sails Lifespan: Unlimited, but can not achieve FTL; Used for station keeping in system.
Cost and Availability: 100 billion credits; Rare.
Black Market: Not available; Even re-habed Tśentrædi warships are worth more, and not NEARLY as expensive. The REF wouldn't even be able to sell captured ones as warehouses, would be forced to scrap them out.

Weapons Systems:
1. T'sentraedi Style Heavy Lasers: Still a highly effective design, it is an REF standard weapon throughout the fleet.
M.D.: 1D4 times 100 per blast.
Rate of Fire: Twice per melee.
Range: 200,000 miles.
Payload: Unlimited.

2. Defensive Laser Batteries (02): Each vessel has at least 02 defensive laser batteries for anti-missile and meteorite defense. More can be added after-market.
M.D.: 5D6 per blast.
Rate of Fire: Per gunners attacks per melee plus bonuses (generally 4 or 5 per melee).
Range: 500 feet.
Payload: Unlimited.

3. Ships, Fighters, Power Armor, and Robots: Of the limited defenses these vessels DO have, this is the primary one. A full Regiment of Civil Defense is authorized for each inhabited vessel, and a battalion for uninhabited ones. Exact numbers will vary, however about 500 Destroids and 100 shuttles and fighters round out the general numbers.

Features:
  • E.S.M.: Radar Detector. Passively detects other radars being operated.
  • Radar: Combat grade radar. Range 100 miles, can track up to 50 individual targets. 95% reliability (24% against unfriendly stealthed vehicles).
  • Blue Force Tracker: Identifies friend from foe. Overlays the information on both the radar and HUD, ensuring that friendly forces are not accidentally targeted.
  • GPS: Standard tracking device. Ties into the Blue Force Tracker.
  • HUD: Displays maps, radar, targeting information, and any OTHER information the wearer wants directly in front of the user.
  • Telescoping Arms: Over 300 Canadarms. Maximum reach is 300 feet.
  • Anti-Jamming System: Reduces Electronics Countermeasure by ¾ (decrease skill level appropriately).
  • FLIR/SLIR: Forward and Side Looking Infrared. Allows pilot to get visuals on targets at night.
  • Virtual Map: Displays a continuously-updating map of local terrain for the pilot. Takes data from and gives data to other friendly units in the area. Effective land navigation of 85% as updates come. Good to 500 miles. Specific range can be adjusted in 1 mile increments.
  • Video Camera: Records from the HUD. 50 hours of recording available.
  • Full range optic sensory suite: Infrared, ultra violet, Magnification, night sight, color filters, thermal imager. Range is about 200 miles for MOST sensors.
  • Escape Pods: There are supposed to be 3 ten man escape pods per every 20 passengers; There never are, though, rarely more than half that.
Combat Bonuses from Sojourner-Class Combat Elite:
  • One additional Attack Per melee at levels 3, 6, and 9 with any additional bonuses for the pilot.
